This is a great book but luckily by the time my wife purchased it I had already indoctrinated my son with the Dada book. Because of this, my son will tend to read the Mama book while saying "Dada" on every page. But this is an entertaining book with bright colors and simple pictures that my son loves.
I love this book. It is a great addition to the "DADA" book. HOWEVER, why, why, why was there no option for the "MAMA" book to be a BOARD book??????? My grand daughter loves her "DADA" board book. It has survived almost flawlessly for over a year. Not so with the new "MAMA" book. Yes, the cover is hard bound, but the pages are PAPER! She has had it for 3 hours and the pages are crumbled already. Seriously, who expects a 15 month old to be gentle with anything?! Who DID NOT realize that the same age group that pages through the "DADA" board book would also be paging through the "MAMA" book with paper pages with same lack of gentleness for paper!!! These two books will become the newest craze for baby shower gifts.I would've given this book 5 stars had it been a BOARD book. Disappointed.
We bought the DADA book version a while back for our first child. I thought it would be the same concept with the MAMA book. But this book is hilarious! The DADA book is where the dad keep wanting to teach the kid to say dada first. In the MAMA book, the mama tries to teach the kid new words but all the kid can gather is calling for mama. hilariously accurate.
This is such a cute book! Lots of changing vocabulary with animal names and yet a nice repetitive phrase your baby/kiddo can hear and eventually be able to say when reading the book. I think this is different enough from the DADA book. If you liked the other book, this is a must!My baby loves to look at the pictures of this book. I love the ending and beginning of this book...â€everything is mama according to you...†“but then one day you’ll learn you are everything to mama.â€
We have the Dada book and wouldn't you know, our girl's first word was Dada. They just started making the Mama book as a board book and we got it yesterday. The book arrived in great condition and we've read it a bunch already. The pictures and sayings are cute and she repeats back to me "mama"...now if I can just get to recognize that I am Mama.
I liked the book, but having paper pages instead of board pages was a really poor choice! This is a book for babies/young toddlers who are learning to talk. They are not ready for paper pages on books. My almost 1.5 year old has already ripped some of the pages out. ðŸ™
My sister and her husband have "DADA" so I bought this to add to the collection. She was absolutely pleased!
DADA was way better for us. This really needs to be a "Board Book" for first word MAMA. Especially for little ones that want to turn pages. We lost a page already. LoL It's still cute and if a board version should come out, we'll buy it.
