This book has to be one of the most amazing pieces of historical research of the twentieth century. It resolves so many historical questions and enlightens current events in a way that few other books do. Among the questions that get clarified by this book are:• The real non-semitic, Caucasian origin of Ashkenazi Jews.• Why Ashkenazi Jews look “whiter” than their Sephardic or Mizrahi counterparts.• Why has Eastern Europe always been home to so many Ashkenazi Jews.• The real, non-biblical origin of the “Star of David”.• The origin of the obsession of Ashkenazi Jews with the land of Israel.• Revelation 2:9.It’s strange that the author, himself a Zionist Jew, at the end of the book included a lengthy discussion about the implications of his study, where he argues that even though most modern Jews are not ethnic Jews, that should not deprive them of the right to possess the “Holy” land (!?)Perhaps he included that little epilogue with the intention of avoiding his assassination (which he did not achieve) for publishing such inflammatory research; but the consequences of this work are undeniable, and it shatters to pieces the claim that the ancestors of most modern Jews ever lived in the land of Israel (not that the “promised land” claim should anyway have any validity to deprive a whole people —the Palestinians— of their rightful home).

This is a history book through and through. Don't expect much in terms of the implications of the findings. The author is a brilliant historian but the writing is a bit dry. So don't expect to run through this book unless you're a history buff. The author seems to spend the majority of the book proving the so-called jews of today are not of semetic origin. But then, instead of facing the overwhelming consequences of said proof, he sort of chickens out and goes into damage control mode for the jews. In short, he's more interested in historical facts than the political/social consequences of those facts. That was a bit dissappointing, but that doesn't stop the text from being exhaustingly thorough in its research. The "fun" conclusions of said discoveries will be up to braver writers to face.

I'm not sure of the motivation of behind the negative reviews about this book. It is very well written, logical, and backed by numerous references. I've studied the biblical scriptures for many years and the bible clearly describes the skin color and hair texture of the ancient Jews, including the Messiah Himself. This book is controversial because the truth has always offended. The current occupiers of Israel are not the bloodline descendants of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. They are gentiles. And as it is written, they will continue to occupy the holy-land until the second coming of the Messiah.

Great book! Excellent condition table of contents and history of Arthur Koestler revealing how the Khazar empire became converts shows much more historic backup to those theories that may exist out there. Definitely, a wonderful book to have in your library our office.

Wow, finally some one said something. Giving this rating because it's more effort of exposure than people will admit today. If they were the True children of Abraham.. Modern Hebrew wouldn't even something they had to create.

Excellent book relating to the the origins of the Jews.

This book is a reference for me only.

(No spoilers)This is a world-building volume where you are introduced to a world where there are plenty of adventures. This is not a story for those who like cozy adventures (it says something about this particular world that goblin abduction is the least of the peasantry's worries and this book still reads convincingly like a horror novel). The protagonist (but not necessarily the viewpoint character) is aptly named, and the book spends the time building the world and his place in it.Again, this book has elements of real (nonsarcastic) horror presented as a daily ritual. This is not for young children (<10), but the writing is very much worth reading at any age above that.

The series is not for the faint of heart to be sure. Having played a bunch of MMORPGs, RPGs, and fantasy games, this series (light novel, manga, and soon to be anime) addresses or has thoughts that I’d had about them. The edge between the people solving a serious local problem and the paltry reward despite the effort and grinding. And how unforgiving ‘real life’ is when people go into combat. Especially with what seems to be a misunderstanding of how dangerous the enemies are. The beginning is ‘refreshingly real’ or more accurately: ‘disturbing.’ And while at first glance it seems like the protagonist is OP, it is completely justified by the ‘cost’ to him. It is fun to see a fantasy Doom Guy though. To say anymore would be spoilers, suffice to say get ready for subversion of your expectations.

Goblin Slayer is a fairly dark book that follows the life of one man who just wants to rid the world of goblins. I normally don't enjoy books where there is a lot of death and sadness - but I found that I really liked this one.I thought it was fun that the main character was not the stereotypical overpowered dude. He also isn't going around saving the world or going on any crazy awesome adventures. Furthermore, he isn't a happy-go-lucky type of guy; instead, he's actually pretty broken and mentally unstable. He spends his time taking the quests nobody wants (goblin killing) that pay very little but truly help out the lives of the small town people. His interactions with everyone are short and simple - almost robotic. Yet, with that being said, he appears to not be too far gone that he can't come back. I'm really excited to see where the author takes this. Is he going to become more or less human over time? While I haven't read too many Japanese light novels so far, I did feel like this one differentiated itself a bit. The way the characters were presented and the overall tone of the book just felt pretty unique to me. It's a nice change of pace to read about the "other" people in these epic fantasy worlds. I know that many reviewers felt like it was trying too hard to be edgy and do something different - but I actually genuinely enjoyed it.I don't think this book is for everyone - but if you can get over the gruesome scenes depicting some of the worst human elements and don't mind reading about a broken main character - I think it could be a book you could enjoy :)

I had my doubts about this book, but the writer really surprised me. It is a good read. To be honest, I love it because it provides a unique experience compared to other light novels, and the emotion it evokes in the reader upon finishing this book. The Goblin Slayer is no ONE-PUNCHMAN, he does not show progressive growth to become an OP character. Instead, he fights with practicality as a priority against his enemies, and he struggles with expressing himself to the people around him. This book was so enjoyable I finished it in a day, and it was well worth its price.

There isn't really much to say about the ln, since I've already read the manga. Pretty much the story is the same, but the more disturbing scenes dealing with rape or gore are a bit more subdued than in the manga. So if the visuals of the manga are too much for you, then the ln is perfect with giving just enough detail to get the point across without going into too much detail. Although, the one thing I enjoyed about the ln over the manga was with dealing with the gods more than in the manga and that unlike most other series they aren't made out to be really cruel or sadistic, but was still a bit unsure as to really feel for them even though it shows they do care for the children of the world and yet they involve them in their never-ending game.

The Halo Graphic Novel, by Jay Faerber Tsutomu Nihei

From Publishers Weekly

Based on the wildly popular videogame, this anthology collects four stories by different creators, all set in the Halo universe of the 26th century. The game's central story details a war between Earth's United Nations Space Command and the Covenant, a coalition of hostile alien races. At the center is Master Chief, a UNSC cyborg-marine who discovers the terrible secret of the Halo, a series of ringlike artificial planets. Hardcore Halo fans will love Lee Hammock's "The Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor," viscerally illustrated by Simon Bisley, detailing the Flood, a nasty parasitic race of monsters that threaten both the Covenant and the human race. For newcomers there's the legendary Moebius's "Second Sunrise over New Mombasa," in which he renders a beautiful, futuristic version of the Kenyan city—and deftly surveys the intersection of war propaganda and the media. The book's artwork is skillful and unusual (including a story by Tsutomu Nihei and a gallery by an all-star lineup of artists in the back) and the writing brings the Halo universe and its central tenets to life. But ultimately the reader will yearn for the depth of a real, book-length graphic novel—and maybe that's next to come. (July) Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. This isn't a bad collection, but the quality of the artwork and the stories varies far too much. In fact, I'd say the first story is by far the best and then things go downhill from there. You probably need to be a dedicated HALO fan (which I am not) to truly love this, at best, average work.

I have been a fan of science fiction most of my life. Whether it was movies, books or comics, I enjoyed all of them. However, I am not a gamer and never got into this popular form of play; nevertheless, I thought this graphic novel might be interesting. The Halo world was new to me and even though I found this graphic novel mildly interesting at best, I think those who are into this series will probably really like this book.It seems there are a lot of different writers and illustrators who contribute to this series. This book is organized into six areas. They are as follows: The first one, The last voyage of the infinite succor by Lee Hammock and Simon Bisley. The second is Armor Testing by Joy Foerber, Ed. Lee and Andrew Robinson. The third story is Breaking quarantine by Tsutomu Nihei. The fourth is Second sunrise over new Mombasa by Brett Lewis and Moebius. The fifth section shows a gallery of contributors material and the final section has Bungie’s buster. In conclusion, if you are a gamer who loves the Halo games you will relate to this graphic novel. I did think the illustrations were unique and interesting.Rating: 3 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: The Samurai Soul: An old warrior's poetic tribute)

First and foremost, I'd like to say I'm not the biggest comic book fan. I'm more of a Halo fan - played all the games, read all of the books, and there was basically one thing left - the graphic novel. It's not much of a novel with emphasis upon plot or story or even character developments but more about the Halo universe and art. You really have to be a Halo or a graphic novel fan to enjoy it, otherwise I would recommend that you pass this up.There's four stories overall, the first one having to do with an Elite Special Operation to destroy a ship infected with the mysterious parasitic race known as The Flood. "The Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor" expands on events briefly following the first Halo game which was probably my favorite in terms of graphical art and dialogue. The second story, "Armor Testing" follows a deadly war game between Spartans and UNSC Marines (I'm sure most will get a kick out of the ending). Next, what would a graphic novel be without our favorite secondary hero, Sarge? "Breaking Quarantine" attempts to develop Sarge's character without any use of dialogue, simply weapons fire (how ironic). And finally, our last story takes a look at New Mombasa, the city that was fought and badly destroyed in the second Halo game. "Second Sunrise over New Mombasa" deals with a lonely reporter illustrating the humans way of life during the Covenant Invasion of Earth. In other words, most non-Halo fans won't have a clue on events in this graphic novel, they will just sit back and enjoy the art.

This is a very impressive collection. Extremely well put together, and you can tell the teams working here are fans who love what they're doing. When they called this a `Graphic Novel' they really meant it. Two of the four stories are told mostly visually (one entirely without text, but incredibly compelling), and the other two, while heavy on story, are still beautifully rendered. (I'm not a fan of the art style in "second sunrise', but it's still well done.)The art compilation in the back of the book is fantastic, and has some really creative stuff. I love the weapons load out with the Master Chief standing in the middle of all his gear.Any fan of the Halo `verse will have fun with this.(and if you haven't read the Eric Nylund novels, you're missing a Huge part of the Halo story! Don't miss it!)

This is the best comic I have ever read. I , being a Halo fan myself, have also read the novels that compliment the story of Master chief and the rest of the Halo universe. This is a wonderful edition to the Halo universe. It answers questions about characters , the art is spectacular, the stories and how they are presented meld so perfectly together with the style of the games, novels, and the rest of the halo universe that I felt I was reading cut scenes form the games and continuations of the books( which both were amazing as well). Any comic book lover, Halo fan or Sci fi fan should check this comic out , and if that sparks your enthusiasm and you want to find out how this all ties into the Great Story that is Halo you should check out the other novels and game products. 5/5, perfect!, wonderful!, so many words can describe how pleased I am with this product.

Ok this comic was not what I expected. I have read some other Halo comics like, " The fall of reach, and invasion. They where VERY cool, they where detailed, but it was never extreme. But my gosh, this one is actually really gross! Like almost every page is the flood or covenant bleeding all over the place, Yeah I know, Hence the word, " Graphic novel", but I was just not impressed with this one.

The product was in practically new conditions, only noticable damage was a small fold in the corner of the sleeve small enough that it could have even happened while shipping. Well packaged, and arrived on time. The comic was also a good find. For those of you who love comic books for their art rather than their story, this may be a good one for you. The story is told mostly through imagery rather than words and has quite a variety of art inside.
