As the wife of an Iraq War veteran, I bought this for my children. However, the author has a very clearly liberal point of view. He/She blames Bush for nearly everything and declares Obama to be the hero of the day. A segment reads, " So be like President Obama and be smart enough to leave when it is time." If you hold a very liberal viewpoint and have little first hand information about the war, you will probably identify with this book. If you do not hold a liberal viewpoint or have first hand experience with combat in Iraq, you will most likely find many problems with the authors conclusions which are stated as facts, not opinions. In the end, I was very disappointed. As a teacher in public education, perhaps we should just teach our children facts and keep away from trying to teach them political ideologies - whether they be left leaning or right leaning. Because of this, I would not recommend KidCaps books of any sort, and it is odd that I could not find an author attached to this book.

I thought this was a great read. I actually purchased this to read myself and I am 26. I am no expert of the conflicts in the Middle East and I wanted a quick over view before I got into more heavy readings about the Iraq war. I feel that the author did a excellent job keeping the text brief and decoding president Bush's speeches and motives for the Iraq war.

My son is 9 years-old. He loves reading anything about wars - he especially liked this one because he could identify with the viewpoint. The language was good, also, for a 9 year-old.

I love love love this book! I have been reading it to my k-5 elementary students all last month to prepare them for Dia de los Muertos today. Our school is 50% Hispanic, so it's important to include books that celebrate their culture. This book includes quite a few words in Spanish that can usually be translated by looking at the photos, but there's always someone in the class who KNOWS the translation. There's a glossary in the back for the one or two words that I wasn't able to pinpoint.Highly recommended (I've purchased two copies, so far. It's in high demand)

Nice book but you need to preteach the Spanish vocabulary to students before reading it. Bc it’s in rhyme format, you can’t just alter the vocabulary as you read. Better for students who have had some Spanish.

The book iitself is neat - beautiful illustrations and catchy, rhyming phrases.BUT, the book arrived damaged- pages are bent together at the end and creased throughout the whole books. It’s not so damaged that it can’t be read, but I ordered it as a gift to my mom.... considering returning.

Excellent book with amazing illustrations. We used this book in our children's classroom to share the history of dia de los muertos with their classmates. A must buy for all families who celebrate this day.

William Shakespeare was born in April 1564 in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon, on England's Avon River. When he was eighteen, he married Anne Hathaway. I am a college adjunct faculty English teacher and I wanted a simple edition with notes for my class to read in the fall. I was going to order 20 of these for the class, but I am so glad I first bought one for myself. The paper edition doesn't have any spaces between the speakers, either, so it is difficult to read, even if it were written in language my students, mostly college freshmen, could easily understand. They would give up on this edition. Also, there are absolutely NO NOTES for students that define and explain some of the more obscure vocabulary and written expressions. The text underneath this edition on Amazon did NOT say that there were no notes. It is not helpful AT ALL for a new reader of Shakespeare or a reader who only read it in high school unwillingly. I am going to order something else for my class.

As noted by other reviewers, this edition provides but a fraction of what it promises. There are no annotations, no photographs — a historical impossibility of monumental absurdity — of the author, nor any of the other promised features. Beyond that, it does not even include a dramatis personnae, a hallowed standard for any dramatic work. Even the ratings provided by Kindle were for other Shakespeare plays. ... Is there no quality control for works published by Kindle? This was such a sham that it makes me very leery about future purchases from Kindle, especially for editions with which I am not familiar.

This is probably the worst book I've ever received. Characters are not marked. There is no formatting. It is just a wall of text. Don't buy this. Get a different copy of this play.

When I saw Romeo & Juliet in the theatre -- on its opening weekend -- after the film in the lobby I saw dozens of teenaged girls sobbing in each other's arms. I've never seen anything like that before or since. That alone marks the film as a masterpiece, and nothing any critic can say is relevant next to that emotional reaction. Those sobbing teenagers are absolute proof that any critic who panned this film is a fool.Di'Caprio wasn't very famous at that point (though I believe he'd already been nominated for an oscar for an indy film). Later that night, I had dinner with friends and predicted that this boy would become the biggest star in Hollywood -- by tomorrow! I was off by a couple of years. Rare in film history has there been such a perfect casting -- Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo. The mythical balcony scene is freshly designed and executed wonderfully, bringing the myth to life before our eyes. But the crowning glory and superpower of this film is the 'love at first sight' scene - ironic in that there are no words spoken (words being Shakespeare's superpower). It's all done with the eyes by the two young genius actors, combined with inspired camera work and the devastating vocal performance of Des'ree. This is one of the most beautiful, greatest, and most powerful scenes in cinematic history.What is this emotion -- love at first sight? It might only happen two or three times in our entire lives. It isn't real love. So is it just trivial, adolescent silliness? I think it is much more than that -- and so did Shakespeare. What is our emotional relationship with our desires that can never be? We're haunted forever by the impossiblity of perfect love as much as we were ever thrilled by the fantasy of it. Baz Luhrmann's 'Romeo & Juliet' taps deeply into the impossible longings that never leave us. It is a masterpiece.

As an English teacher, teaching Shakespeare can be quite a challenge. For modern students, trying to connect the concepts, theme, and setting of Romeo and Juliet can be quite a challenge. Keeping them engaged in the struggle of Shakespearean language is even more so. This version of the play is accurate and most importantly, entertaining. We, as a class, will read a portion of the play and then I will show this film to help cement ideas, dialogue, and characters. The students love the film, laugh, and respond better to the play than without!

I did not want to see this movie for years after its release. I consider myself a purist where the Bard of Avon is concerned. I adored the films Henry V & Much Ado About Nothing, both directed and starring Kenneth Branaugh, Richard III starring and directed by Olivier. Period costumes, true to Shakespeare's lines, etc. I began to change when I realized (fairly early on in watching it) that 10 Things I Hate About You, was a delightful retelling of The Taming Of The Shrew. Eventually I watched this and found a gem. From the factions portrayed as rival gangs, to the outstanding delivery of the lines. The true crowning jewel is the over the top performance by the inimitable John Leguizamo. As Tibalt, John is amazing.

Best book I have ever read about the subject. Therapeutic for women in this situation and perfect for individuals seeking to be a helpful and non-judgemental friend.

Where to start....I think this is my first book review. I just finished reading this book. I am an atheist, I am a man who has wronged his marriage and his wife. I am trying to gain an understanding about myself so I can better myself and better my marriage. I have been searching for many answers from various philosophies of life. I found Christianity to be the most forgiving, compassionate and hopeful (if you are willing and able to be honest with yourself) . This book in contrast to the Lundy Bancroft book was more encouraging for me. Bancroft, in my opinion, portrays the worst and offers little hope for men who have been abusive. Maybe it was meant to shock and awe women who suffer from abusive men to rightfully act, if so, then the Bancroft book is great for that.In fact I gave the Bancroft book to a friend of mine who is tormented daily by a man who checks off "all the boxes" in the Bancroft book. Hope for redemption of myself and potentially my marriage came from the Vernick book. Bancroft reminded me of Dante entering Hell and reading the sign "abandon all hope, you who enter here." Vernick gave me hope, if I was willing to see my truths and listen.Vernick's book provides some useful "self checklists" (CORE in the book) for both men and women to employ. It also gives guidance on how to continue to provide constructive feedback to your spouse. There is forgiveness and redemption in truth. The book is written for the women who are or have suffered from abuse, but it still helped me understand myself and to understand what my wife has been going through.Before any of these books can help, you need to let honesty and truth in. If you cannot examine yourself, the good and the bad, then none of these books will ever help. Of course this book was written for believers of Christianity, but I think the message within this book transcends that and can be applied by all people.Overall, a book of hope, truth and forgiveness for those that want to better themselves and potentially their marriage.

I found this book literally after crying out to God one day to just lead me to the truth about my marriage. I was so emotionally torn after receiving advice from Christian friends to just hang in there, keep forgiving and keep trying to be the wife my husband wants, vs. a Christian therapist telling me I needed to make my husband face consequences for his abuse. I thought for 14 years God wanted me to turn the other cheek, submit, and love without conditions. This not only enabled my husband to continue with his abusive behavior, but it also made me start to turn away from God. I felt like God loved my husband and his needs far more than He loved me, to the point that He expected me to put up with disrespect, berating, name calling, being ignored all the time, being treated like nothing more than an object, some physical abuse, the list goes on.So I found this book after doing just one Google search and I read what I could of what was inside of it through Amazon's Look Inside feature. I literally wept the hardest I have in my life when I read the first two chapters stating that God loves me and didn't want this kind of marriage for me or any other woman. That what I was dealing with was not what a marriage should be and God didn't expect me to put up with it. It was the first time I had ever heard this and it was like being freed from a prison cell.I bought this book and had it overnighted. Once I got it I could not put it down. I had no idea what the extent was of the abuse I was dealing with until I read this book. I felt so understood-- for once! -- and received much more love and encouragement from Leslie's words than I ever received from the church's many teachings that women must love and forgive their husbands no matter what.Leslie not only helps you identify what is going on in your marriage, but she helps you to figure out how to deal with it in a Godly way. She tells you that allowing someone to hurt you over and over without being accountable is not loving them, that it's living by fear instead of faith, and that it keeps the abuser from becoming the person God created them to be. If you will not speak the truth to them about their behavior, you are not loving them well. She shows you how to apply consequences in a healthy way, and what to do if setting boundaries with your abusive spouse do not work. If his heart won't change, what you can do next.This book saved my life. I think if I had no found it I would have continued putting up with abuse until the day I died, and thinking God didn't give a rip about me. I would have lost the one love I did have in my life, Jesus, because of the wrong picture the church paints of Him and how He views married women.If you are in an abusive marriage, please read this book, and draw closer to Jesus as you find out how He really feels about you and what you've been going through. Seek Godly counsel to help you apply what Leslie teaches you, which is totally in line with the Bible. She does not twist scripture around. She cites verses in their true context.If you are a Christian counselor, pastor or friend, please do not tell women who are with husbands who consistently talk down to them, break their hearts, disrespect them and treat them like an object that all they have to do is try harder and he'll come around. Read this book and become educated about something that is very misunderstood in the Church, and has been hurting Christian wives for far too long.I thank God for answering my prayer, for leading me to the truth found in this book, and for loving me enough to do so.

This book does four important things:1. Wakes a woman up to the reality of her marriage (it's not healthy vs. her dream of what it could/should be) - an important first step in getting help.2. Validates what she is going through (she isn't making it up in her head) and offers compassionate understanding and assessment.3. Shows her what she is doing to enable the toxic cycles of abuse to continue.4. Exposes the lies she is believing that keep her in the cycle.5. Gives her the essential and practical tools to break out of the cycles.The test at the beginning of the book helps you discern whether or not you are living in an emotionally destructive marriage - and what TYPE of ED marriage it is. (There are several.)I also love the teaching about building your CORE. (Get the book and find out what that acronym stands for!!) Having a strong CORE is what will enable you to break free by the Grace of God at the Center of who you are.I read this book within 24 hours and am coming back to buy a bunch to give away.If you or someone you know lives with a passive-aggressive type person, I highly recommend this book along with Who's Pushing Your Buttons?: Handling the Difficult People in Your Life by Dr. John Townsend. Both are eye-opening, hope-drenched, and VERY practical.

I am very dissapointed with this book, it did not deliver at all. In other words, the book is out dated. Actually, it should be written off market. Why? One reason is that the book did not have any form of configuration screen at all. Basical, if you use this book there is no form of step-by-step guide to tell you if you right or wrong. Secondly, there has been so much upgrade done on the module which the book did not mention. Even though, I was looking for a cheap book at the time of purchase. Personally, I felt like this is one of those bad investments.

I should have paid more attention to the title. It's called "Administering" SAP R/3 and not "Customising". It explains how to use the different SD functions not how to implement them. Unfortunately, it cannot be recommended to users either because it is too technical and does not explain things in a comprehensive manner. There are some books that emphasise the business process and help you decide how to implement this in SAP. This is not one of them. This book is smack in the middle of a no-mans land. It's no good for customising, no good for users and no good for planning business processes.I totally agree with some of the other reviewers. Your better off with the online documentation.Save your bucks. Don't waste them on this book.Incidently, if your looking for a book on SD customising, I can recommend "Implementing SAP Sales and Distribution": 5 stars!

This book offers no help at all in configuring the SD module.It basically just explains all the functionality that is available in the SD module, without explaining how you can configure SAP to use the functionality.If you are buying the book to see what SAP SD can do, fine. But if you want to configure the module, try another book! I recommend the SD book by Glynn Williams from McGraw Hill.I have also read the MM and FI-CO books in the ASAP series, and they are the same! - they cover the functionality and not the configuration.And even though these books cover the functionality, they don't explain how to use it effectively, they just tell you what functionality is available.You may as well spend some time using the SAP online help.I suppose these books were great when SAP was new and not many people understood it, but now the market is more intelligent and aware of what SAP can do the market expects quality information on configuring the SAP system and using it to solve business situations.

Our daughter who is 12 and has a disability loves the buddies so we had to ad the spooky buddies book to her collection.I have to say it is spooky ,sometimes she has nightmares because of the halloween hound in the movie who is a vey large dog with green eyes.Then there is pip the beagle dog who turns into a ghost. Cute book,Cute movie. Make sure you supervise this movie to explain it is just pretend if you have little ones who tend to be spooked and watch it during the day. LOL

I think this manga deserves more popularity, it is rare to find a HAREM manga that doesn't focuses on a ton of ecchi moments as a sale point. The story so far is great! the pacing is perfect and there isn't any filler to halt the progression of the story.

In 2017, “Gotobun no Hanayome” (5 equal brides) manga series was written and illustrated by Haruba Negi and serialized on Kodansha’s “Weekly Shonen Magazine.With the manga series ongoing in Japan and seven graphic novels published, an anime series adaptation began in January 2019.The manga series has also made its way to North America courtesy of Kodansha Comics.The manga series begins with an introduction to the intelligent Uesugi Fuutarou. While bright, he has no mother, no friends and due to his father’s amazing debt, he and his younger sister Raiha have been living with hardly anything and often go hungry.One day while eating lunch in the cafeteria, he and a female student try to fight over a seat. Both manage to sit down and when she sees a paper with his test score and that he got a perfect grade, she asks if he can tutor her. Not being a social person, he observes all the food she bought and tells her if she eats too much, she’ll get fat, thus upsetting her.Meanwhile, Uesugi gets call from his younger sister and that their father found a part-time job and that a wealthy family moved to the area and their father recommended Uesugi to tutor their daughter. And Raiha with joy is happy that now they can finally fill their bellies.Knowing how important it is to Raiha and also for him to have money to get food, he agrees to tutor this girl named Nakano Itsuki. Not knowing that the girl he argued with earlier, is Nakano.Uesugi feels terrible because now that Nakano is in his class, he knows he needs to make things right with her. But when he wants to, she is always around these four other girls. When he goes to ask, these girls are trying to figure him out and he tries to figure out if they are her best friends that can help him make things right with her.When he goes to meet Nakano at her home to tutor her, he is shocked to find out that the other girls were not her friends, in fact the five of them are quintuplets.And to make things even more challenging, their father has given Uesugi the task of tutoring each of the five girls and making sure that they each graduate from high school.Unfortunately, Uesugi learns that each of them have terrible grades and have no desire to study. But can Uesugi help the Nakano sisters? Get them to study and eventually graduate?Reading “The Quintessential Quintuplets”, you can’t help but feel this will be harem-style manga series and I wouldn’t be surprised if each of the girls start to fall for the main protagonist when they see his good qualities.While the concept of underachiever attracting beautiful women is nothing new to manga, it’s rather interesting because the series is about a guy using his brain in order to get the girls’ grades up.Having a relationship is not really a priority because he lacks social skills and would’t know if a girl liked him or not, but what drives him is his younger sister not having to go hungry and he and his family not having to worry about putting food on their plate.This is a job that he needs in order to make sure his sister and him don’t go hungry but of course, the challenge is that he has to teach quintuplets, each with different personalities and none of them like studying and each have bad grades.So, can Fuutarou get the sisters to warm up to him, because right now, he’s having a tough time because they don’t like to study.For those who enjoy harem stories or a story about an intelligent student taking on a paying job (which is important for his poor family) of tutoring quintuplets who are doing bad in school, don’t really like him or studying and must do all he can to make sure they graduate. A fun story and an entertaining first volume of Haruba Negi’s “The Quintessential Quintuplets”!I guess we will see how the manga progresses but for the most part, I enjoyed the first volume and I look forward to reading vol. 2!

The Quintessential Quintuplets follows Fuutarou, a straight A high school student. He gets straight As, studies a lot, and comes from a poor family. At the start of the story we see him get a BBQ-plate-hold-the-BBQ. He then explains that by holding the BBQ, that knocks the price down to the same price as a bowl of rice, but gives him rice plus vegetables plus miso soup. His family (him, his dad, and his younger sister) are also in debt. But, more importantly, Fuutarou periodically obsesses about what other people are eating, because he wants more food, and to get more food, he would need more money. For example, he is very interested in whatever the quintuplets are eating as he sees them in the school cafeteria or before tutoring sessions. At the end of book 1, the sisters warm up a little to Fuutarou and share him some birthday cake, and it's more significant since he's fixated on food.At the start of the story, Fuutarou's father sets him up with a tutoring gig to earn extra money. Come to find the gig is to tutor quintuplets. The quintuplets are all bad at school. Astonishingly bad. They are also all hot, and he's managed to personally offend each of them within the first 3 chapters. At heart the premise is, it's highschool, and it's a smart dorky guy with 5 hots girls and they are forced to interact.This book 1, sets up the story. It introduces all 5 sisters. And, Fuutarou makes a connection with one sister who is secretly a Japanese history buff having gotten into it by playing video games about feudal warlords. My guess is that future books will have each sister having a secret academic talent, and all teaching one another so they can graduate and succeed and Fuutarou can get the money.Interspersed in the story, there are a few flashforwards with a page showing one of the sisters dressed as a bride, and Fuutarou narrating about the days when he first me the sisters. So, the implication is that he will end up marrying one of them at the end of or after the end of the series.Overall, this is a mindless escape and just what you'd expect from a Manga series. It's pretty clean - the ladies dress hot, but remain clothed (or for the one scene where he walks in on one after a shower, she's wearing a towel). It's pretty much a romantic situation comedy with a dorky guy and the beautiful girls making him crazy. Fast to read and if you want a plain old manga, then this one is a crowd pleaser.

This is a fast moving, energetic and rather bubbly story. Futaro Uesugi is a very smart boy, but his family has a worrisome debt. He can rectify the problem as a tutor, which his family has arranged. All he has to do is get his students to graduation. Unfortunately, he's already met one, and it didn't go well at all. She's pretty and rich, and he's condescending and a total math nerd, hellbent on getting the best deal for his money at lunch.Matters only get worse when he finds out that it's not one girl, but a set of monozygotic quintuplet that he has to tutor, and they are each a total mess in their own way. How is he ever going to get them to accept his help and actually teach them to pass? One of them makes zeros in math!There are some flirty sexual situations and the art is a bit provocative in places. It's pretty tame compared to some anime though. Overall the art is cute more than sexy. I love the full page plates of the bride in her gown.It's read back to front like most anime, and it includes some cultral reference notes.

Wonderful perspective from two angles of special needs parenting. The characters are real and engaging. The story is strong and kept me reading - I finished it in one day! The characters personal faith is woven throughout the book in a very real and heartwarming way. I highly recommend this book.

I have been patiently waiting for the release of this book since Deanna Smith announced she was writing it. It lived up to my expectations and more. I love how the author allows us to see inside the life of children and families that are affected by Down's Syndrome. This is an amazing book with an amazing story based on Christian fundamentals and love. This is a beautiful book about love - the love of a mom, love between a man and woman, love of family and most importantly the love of our Heavenly Father. Such an amazing book and a real page turner that I feel blessed just by reading it.

I loved the book. I loved the mix of God, suspense, romance and an extra helping of chromosomes. I could see Addison, Aunt Leanne, Mama Hop and the whole Smith and Catfish With Ketchup crews sprinkled throughout. Bless you all.

I love her writing style! The story is engaging from page one. A very honest perspective on life.

As a mom to a daughter with Down syndrome, it is refreshing to read a story about the different aspects of having such a child - the easy and the hard. Plus, the story is wonderfully written - it kept me interested the whole time. I couldn't put it down! The characters are alive and the suspense kept the story moving along. Having the perspective of different characters gave flavor to the narrative.Thank you, Deanna, for using your storytelling gift to bring this story to life!

I just purchased and thoroughly enjoyed reading (think, 2 a.m. finish) this engaging book. All my wonderful special needs teacher friends, I think you would enjoy this unique perspective written by a mom of a beautiful Downs daughter! I sometimes have been annoyed and confused by authors who jump back and forth through time in telling a story. However, I felt that the “jumps” in this book moved the story ahead smoothly, without confusion or disruption. Even though this book is fiction, the main characters felt like people I know or would like to know.

I throughly enjoyed this book. I love her writing style. Even better Her first book. Hope there will be many more!

If you have these books, you know what they are.

Had everything in it that I needed. It is inconvenient that Amazon doesn't post the table of contents in the description but there are other reviewers that do and websites you can go to. Bottom line the Music Theatre Anthology series is awesome and a must for any teacher or student. Get the CDs, they are worth the extra money :)

This is one of my favorites of the SMTA books. There are some very nice songs in this volume.

This whole series is great for singer. These books have a great selection of songs from fantastic shows. These books feature small blurbs about each show that is in the book. One of my favorite parts about these books is that the songs are taken straight out of the show in their original keys.

Decent selection of songs

I looked all over for "The Music That Makes Me Dance" from Funny Girl - found severl on line to download but none were the one we wanted. I can't tell you how happy I was to find this book with the song EXACTLY as it should be! Challenging piece, but in the end my accompanist and I were thrilled to achieve the goal of performing the song! Many great selections in this book - oldies but goodies for sure. Classics and then some! Perfect for your collection. Very pleased with the contents, the condition and the seller!
